My Biggest Inspiration.

About six months ago, after my sister moved out, I moved all my belongings into her old room to make it my own. In the process of switching rooms, I decided I had grown out of the 'beach' theme of my last room and decided to redecorate. After a few months, my room was almost done apart from a large space in the centre of the shelf above my bed, where I had intended to hand a piece of art. The problem was that because I am so indecisive in all aspects of my life, I talked myself out of buying every piece of art I liked. And for months my shelf had nothing but a empty picture frame and a wooden ampersand symbol on it (sad, I know).

Then, the other day I was scrolling through my pinterest feed and saw an article on vision boards. I immediately knew that’s what I wanted sitting on the shelf, a pin board! This way my indecisive self could swap and change the things on the pin board whenever I pleased!

I straight away remembered the pin board hanging in my old room that had been covered with old concert tickets and polaroids. I spent the rest of that night scrolling and searching through pinterest to find photos that inspired me, whether it was to do with fashion, travel, food, fitness, beauty or just in life. I saved about twenty photos onto a USB and the next day I stopped by Kmart to print them off. When I got home, I couldn't wait to start putting my inspo board together.

I cut around the pictures and then sorted them across my pin board. I also raved the craft draw in my house and found some fake metallic leaves and some patterned cardboard, which I cut out and stuck behind some of the pictures to give it something different. It took many attempts to get the setup just how I had wanted it but it was worth all the fluffing around.

I absolutely love how it turned out! I think it adds more character and personality to my room and I love the idea of changing it up when I am lacking inspiration. This is also a cheap alternative to any wall art you would find at urban outfitters and you wont get bored with it. I had so much fun creating my inspiration board and I definitely recommend trying it out!

(Stay tuned for a room tour coming very soon!)
