Kylie Jenner Matte Lip Kit Swatches and Review

Ah yes, I am just another one of those teenage girls who sat anxiously at my laptop at the time of a Kylie Cosmetics restock in order to purchase some of the most talked about makeup products of 2016.
I really do believe that my experience with getting one direction concert tickets did come in handy when purchasing these lip kits and so I thank my younger self for the practice. I managed to get my hands on three of the matte shades that I had my eyes on: Candy K, Dolce K and True Brown K.
Lip Swatches:

Candy K
This shade is definitely my favourite of the ones I have. I feel as though it suits me the best and that it is a shade that I am most used to seeing on myself (probably because it is the lightest of shades). I also think it is the most wearable shade of the three.
Dolce K
I do also really like this shade. However it is a bit darker and more grey than I had expected from what swatches I have seen online. I feel as though this shade is going to be my go to on days or nights when I am doing something where I want to get a little more dressed up with my makeup (whether I am just going to the movies, out to dinner or to a party).
True Brown K
Buying True Brown K was definitely more of a spur of the moment decision (okay this is a bit of an exaggeration - I decided about five days before I bought it that I was going to get it, but with the other shades I knew months in advance they were the ones I wanted). Anyway, I think this shade is absolutely gorgeous... on some people, and unfortunately I am not one of those people. I think I just need a little more time to play around with it and see what works and what doesn't. I do think it would look amazing on people with darker skin so hopefully when we get out of winter and I get my tan back I might be able to pull it off. Fingers crossed. Anyway, I am determined to pull it off and will keep you guys updated!
Formula:
Overall, the quality of these products are really great, which is expected for the price (which I will get into later). The lip liners are absolutely amazing. They are super creamy, smooth and don't tug on my lips when applied, which is something that I really appreciate. As for the liquid lipsticks, they are quite drying, however, considering they are LIQUID LIPSTICKS and my lips are extremely dry because of winter, they are much better than any other liquid lipstick I own. They dry in about 15 seconds which is awesome because I am super impatient. Also, they are comfortable on the lips. I'm not going to sit here and say it feels like I have nothing on my lips, because they are a little drying but I wouldn't say they are uncomfortable.
Price:
For all three lip kits and shipping it came to around $140-$150 AUD. The way that I thought about it was that I was pretty much getting three lipliners for $25 each and three liquid lipsticks for $25 each. When I thought of it like that it didn't seem so bad for high end makeup, however it is definitely not something I would normally buy all at once. But it got to the stage where all I was thinking about was these products (a bit ridiculous I know), so I decided it was worth giving them a shot.
If you are really wanting to try these products but are worried about the price, I would say go for it but be wise about your selection. Maybe try similar coloured products before you purchase them to be sure that they are the colours you want or even try out a friends if you have the chance! Also, If you think you want to buy quiet a few, I would recommend getting them at once. It may seem daunting to see such a large figure come out of your bank account but overall you will save money on shipping!
It may also be a good idea to buy with a friend. By purchasing your products and the ones that your friend wants in the same transaction you can split the shipping price and it will be cheaper for the both of you!
Shipping:
If you are not already aware, shipping to America is $8.95USD and international shipping is $14.95USD
I placed my order on the 1st of June and received it on the 17th of June. So it took just over two weeks. While I was waiting for it, it felt like forever! However, looking back it wasn't so bad, actually considering it was coming from overseas, two weeks isn't bad at all.
Tips:
In my opinion, the most difficult thing about getting your hands on Kylie's products is that she usually only releases the restock dates and times on her app, which you have to pay for monthly. I feel like enough of my money for the lip kits is going to Kylie, I don't want to have to pay for her app as well! Also, when she did post the restock time on instagram, I honestly got very confused with the time system that America uses and converting it to Australian time (I'm not very good at this stuff haha).
So, something that really helped me out was an instagram account called @nadiaidder
She posts when the restock is and also converts it to the times all over the world! So I definitely recommend following her to keep updated on the restocks!
